Samaria

"...The land upon which you lie I will give to you and to your descendants ...and you shall be spread out westward and eastward, northward and southward." (Genesis 28:11-15) Bethel, nestled in the mountains of Samaria, was a significant place in biblical times. Here Jacob dreamed of a ladder leading to heaven, and later it was the seat of the Ark of the Covenant. The place offers one of the best panoramic views in all of Israel. From here you can see the coast, the Jordan Valley, the mountains of Moab and even Mount Hermon.
